My 4th month in the “Do ESC” project

After returning from vacation, we continued our work from where we left off.

The first week we went to Salerno with people with disabilities. We went to Isola Verde Aqua Park in Salerno. There we had fun, danced, sunbathed, swam and had a very interesting day together with disabled people.

Then we continued our work at Anginradio.

In the following days, we met with disabled people. We visit them twice a week. We do many activities with them. Our activities are mainly to have fun together, take pictures, listen to music, dance, play various games, etc.

The following week, we started cheering for the youth exchange training organized by TdG. Our first training was GIOCA. We helped with everything. The project is “By playing, you learn!” is a Partner Countries mobility of youth workers for 30 youth workers to implement from 14/09/2022 to 22/09/ 2022 in Torre del Greco, Italy.

The 10 partner organizations are: Italy, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia. Together with the participants, we took part in trainings, exercises and various games. The training took place at the Casa Rosa hotel. the hotel was by the sea and the tomb was quite beautiful. The participants had a lot of fun. We organised intercultural nights. I tasted the traditional sweets, drinks, and food of different countries and learned what I didn’t know about the countries. I learned their dances and songs. It means a lot to me. We represented Italy. We presented Italian food, Italian pizza, chocolates, sweets and drinks to the participants. And we danced the tarantella. Tarantella is a popular dance form of Naples. We teaches how o dance Tarantella with Tamurella.

The training took place at thet Casa Rosa hotel. The hotel was by the sea and the tomb was quite beautiful. The participants had a lot of fun. The name of the next training we organized was “All the colors”.

Then we went to Laviano. Together with the Associazione Amici di laviano, we celebrated Grandparents Day together with the local elders. We prepared a small party. We helped to decorate the party, prepare food, drinks, etc. We danced with grandparents and had a lot of fun. At the end of the party, we distributed certificates to the grandparents. The next day we went on a hike to explore Lavino. The air was so clean, the forests were full of dense trees, the people were very friendly, and the food was very tasty. Although Laviano is a small town, I really liked it. Every moment I spent there will not be erased from my memory.

Then we visited Salerno. We went to Templi di Paestum in Salerno.

Paestum was a major ancient Greek city on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in Magna Graecia (southern Italy). The ruins of Paestum are famous for their three ancient Greek temples in the Doric order, dating from about 550 to 450 BC, which are in an excellent state of preservation. The city walls and amphitheatre are largely intact, and the bottom of the walls of many other structures remain, as well as paved roads. The site is open to the public, and there is a modern national museum within it, which also contains the finds from the associated Greek site of Foce del Sele.

Solinus wrote that it was established by Dorians. After its foundation by Greek colonists under the name of Poseidonia (Ancient Greek: Ποσειδωνία), it was eventually conquered by the local Lucanians and later the Romans. The Lucanians renamed it to Paistos and the Romans gave the city its current name. As Pesto or Paestum, the town became a bishopric (now only titular), but it was abandoned in the Early Middle Ages, and left undisturbed and largely forgotten until the eighteenth century.
