School meeting with SE.D.I.

Hello. I am Rugayya Gulverdiyeva. I am a volunteer of the Torre dei Giovani (TdG) association. Firstly, i would like talk about our project.

The name of project is “DO ESC”.  “DO ESC” is the European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Project of “Torre dei Giovani” NGO. Mainly, the topics of the project are: citizenship and democratic participation, community development, education and training. The project focuses on the education and inclusion of youth with few opportunities, offering them support.  TdG is a voluntary association composed mostly of young people living in Naples and nearby Torre del Greco.

On March 15, together with SE.D.I, we participated in an event in the school. The event was about violence.

Violence, an act of physical force that causes or is intended to cause harm. The damage inflicted by violence may be physical, psychological, or both. Violence may be distinguished from aggression, a more general type of hostile behaviour that may be physical, verbal, or passive in nature. Violence is a relatively common type of human behaviour that occurs throughout the world. People of any age may be violent, although older adolescents and young adults are most likely to engage in violent behaviour. Violence has a number of negative effects on those who witness or experience it, and children are especially susceptible to its harm. Fortunately, various programs have been successful at preventing and reducing violence.

General information about violence was given at the event. The teachers held detailed discussions on the topic and informed the students. Students showed videos and small theaters they made about “STOP VIOLENCE”. We participated in the event together with radio Siani (SE.D.I.). We interviewed teachers and students about the topic. At the same time, we made videos, podcasts and took pictures of the event.
