Power and Solidarity in social interactions

Hello. I am Rugayya Gulverdiyeva. I am a youth worker in the association of Torre dei Giovani. I went to Ceuta, Spain for the Power and Solidarity in social interactions training course.  The training lasted from February 24 to March 3.

The objectives of training:

  • To provide participants with the knowledge about ESC Solidarity Projects based on practical experience.
  • To develop their coaching skills needed to coach Solidarity Projects made by young people.
  • To educate participants on such aspects of project management like budgeting, communication, teamwork, project executing, monitoring, risk management, reporting, and other.
  • To practice in developing drafts of application forms for Solidarity Projects with our participants.
  • To make a positive impact on organisations working at local levels by increasing their capabilities of working with local youth.

Participants and partners were from Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and North Macedonia. I am very happy to meet new friends. It means meeting people from different countries and learning new cultures.

I visited Spain for the first time and visited the city of Ceuta. I learned about Ceuta and its history. Ceuta is a very beautiful city, I am very lucky to have the opportunity to visit it. Ceuta has a population of 82,376 habitants. Its population consists of Christians, Muslims and small minorities of Sephardic Jews and ethnic Sindhi Hindus. We went to the border between Morocco and Spain.

I learned a lot in the “Power and Solidarity in social interactions” project I participated in. First of all, I met new people from different countries. During my communication with them, I improved my language skills.

I am very disappointed with the end of the project. I never wanted it to end. Because we learned together and had fun together. The exercises were quite interesting. Although the days are sometimes long, i learned a lot from the project. I learned my responsibilities as a youth worker, what should i do. We got a certificate n the last day of the project.
