Giuseppina Mazza is the founder of Torre dei Giovani. Graduated in Civil Engineering and Safety Engineering, she is also a freelance journalist with several years of experience in theater and television.
She started her volunteer work at the age of fourteen, supporting people with few opportunities.
Since 2004 she has been promoting active citizenship and the importance of the European Community, having the possibility to organize, with large following, various seminars and workshops on education, the protection of human rights and on youth policies.
In 2005, she took part in the high school association and after candidature for school elections, becoming a councilor, my role allows me to work closely with the Municipality and in particular with the Department of Education, also acquiring skills related to the Public Administration.
In 2008 she started her studies in Civil and Environmental Engineering, participating in and winning the university elections with the associated group “Facciamo Futuro”, thus holding the position of councilor of Civil Engineering Faculty for four years.
Since 2008, she participated in numerous training courses, acquiring the tools needed to better address any personal and professional situation and to operate effectively in the labor market, improving my skills of analysis and intervention in different areas, enhancing important aspects such as communication with others, mediation, time management, negotiation, effective delegation.
From 2009 to today, she has been actively interested in European programs for youth policies, such as Youth in Action, Leonardo, etc. Also, she joined in with the renewable energy sector through the society NWG.
In 2010 she became part of the organization of Civil Protection “Amici di Laviano” and she run the National Civil Service from 03/09/2012 to 09/03/2013 in the project “Art, Worship and Tradition.”
Fresh from this experience, on 27/10/2014, she funded the Organization of Volunteering “Torre dei Giovani-TdG”, which works at local and European level, engaged in various programs, including the educational Erasmus + and she started to take part personally in Youth Exchanges, Seminars, Training Courses and PBA with the purpose of becoming a trainer.
From 2015 to 2018, collaborating with the municipal institutional group, dealing in particular with social and youth policy, she worked to open the first Anti-Violence Center of the city, obtaining regional funding, as well as the first free nursery and to implement of the Youth Forum.
Since 2016 she has been collaborating in a network with various local associations, activating about 200 internships promoted and funded by the “Youth Guarantee” program. She organized various workshops and meetings to raise awareness on refugees and took part into policy decisions to protect their rights, supporting the most vulnerable groups, equal opportunities and attention to youth policy.
